A Message from Founder and Owner Elena Ferrante

I m so proud to bring you our handmade, health-conscious products!

I’m a former medical industry professional with a solid science background, including in-depth study of biology, chemistry, pharmacology and immunology. I spent many years educating physicians and other health care personnel in the pharmaceutical industry—and what I came to believe is that we are primarily responsible for our own health, and that of our loved ones, including our beloved dogs. I have a steadfast and devoted passion to these incredible creatures-- and have founded Sophisticated Canines to enhance the quality of life of every owner’s cherished dog.

I know firsthand the power of animals to improve the lives of the chronically and acutely ill, having done pet therapy with cancer patients. The impact of pets on our lives is immeasurable. What I set out to accomplish with Sophisticated Canines was to bring to bear:

• my lifelong study of health and nutrition, focused on holistic and homeopathic care;
• knowledge of the nutritional and special dietary needs of dogs; and
• my passion for these precious animals, in order to better their lives—and those of their owners.
